Whales and dolphins
Swimming with the giants, an experience you will always remember
Each year about 1000 whales choose the waters of Moheli. The female humpback whales are enormous whales of 30 to 40 tons and up to 17 meters who migrate from the Antarctic feeding on plankton.
In the beginning of the Antarctic winter around April they start their long 6000 kilometre journey through the Mozambique channel reaching Moheli in July. Their stay here until October when they head back to their habitat in Antarctica.
Nowhere in the world one can observe and swim safely in warm waters with whales.
